COVID-19 Update

Athenian Academy Families,

As you know, the situation surrounding the COVID-19 is rapidly changing.  Yesterday, the Florida Department of Education, announced all public and private K-12 schools  will be closed until April 15th.  In addition to school closures, the Florida Department of Education has also announced that all state testing has been suspended for the remaining of the school year.

Athenian Academy is in the process of having our school buildings sanitized.  Our administrative team along with our management company have been busy developing our digital learning plans for continued education.  We have created a short survey link for our families regarding digital learning capabilities.  This link will also be available on our website soon.  Please take a moment to complete this survey for your family.

Athenian Academy will be finalizing our plan for digital learning next week with an anticipated launch date of Monday, March 30th.  We will continue to work with Pinellas County School District, Florida Department of Education, Florida Charter School Consortium, and the Florida Health Department to meet the needs of our families.

If you are in need of WiFi access, thanks to Spectrum, free WiFi will be provided to all students.  For students to enroll, they will need to call 1-844-488-8395.  All installation fees will be waived for new student households.  WiFi hotspots across Spectrum’s footprint will also be available for public use.

To ensure students have accessibility to meals during this time, the district has set up locations for families to pick up grab & go breakfasts and lunches for students 18 and under beginning March 23-27.  A complete list of distribution points can be found on the Pinellas County School website.  The closest distribution site to our school would be Dunedin Elementary from 10:45 am – 11:45 am.  As school closures through April 15 were just announced, additional information will be forthcoming.

Please continue to take care of your family.  We will continue to keep you updated through school messenger.  Our school office will be open after Spring Break to address questions by phone.  Together we will all make it through this evolving situation.  Our thoughts are with you and we wish you and your families to stay healthy and well.
